He said, “I’ve personally and thru a letter requested Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to start out this museum to unfold Gandhiji’s message of fact and non-violence among the many public. To protest in opposition to this dogmatism of the federal government and to open the Gandhi Vatika Museum for most of the people, I and all of the Gandhians will sit on a dharna on 28 September, Saturday, from 11 am to 4 pm on the Gandhi Vatika Museum situated at Gate No. 5 of Central Park.”

Bhajanlal government cancelled the trust

Bhajan Lal government had repealed the Gandhi Vatika Trust by introducing a bill in the assembly. The Gandhi Vatika Trust, Jaipur Act, 2023, made by the Congress government, was repealed. Responding to the debate on the bill, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara had said that the Gandhi Vatika Trust Jaipur (Repeal) Bill has been introduced for better operation of the Gandhi Museum and wide and effective promotion of the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi.

Kharge and Rahul Gandhi had inaugurated it

Gandhi Vatika was inaugurated by Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in September last year. The theme of Gandhi Vatika, built at a cost of Rs 85 crore in Jaipur’s Central Park, has been prepared under the guidance of a committee of Gandhian thinkers. On the ground floor of the garden, the period from the arrival of the British in India to Gandhiji’s migration to South Africa has been marked in five parts.
