Rajasthan Politics: In Jaipur, many officers together with the District President of Congress joined BJP. Jyoti Mirdha had a particular dialog with NDTV. During this he stated that Hanuman Beniwal himself is the most important instance of libel. He stated that BJP candidates will win the election from Khinvsar meeting seat. Jyoti Mirdha stated, “There were many aspirants on Khinvsar seat. But, no opposition was seen anywhere.”

“We are contesting elections on the basis of teamwork”

Regarding RLP supremo Hanuman Beniwal’s query, Jyoti Mirdha stated, “Hanuman Beniwal is only fighting for his survival. Whereas, we are fighting the elections on the basis of teamwork. Hanuman Beniwal has always accused Congress and BJP of promoting nepotism. Allegations have been made. Hanuman Beniwal always says that if we raise the voice of farmers and youth, then they should field their candidates on 7 seats. But, the party has fielded candidates only on Khinvsar seat. By this he himself has said that the graph of the party has gone down considerably.

Hanuman gave ticket to his wife from Khinvsar

Ratan Choudhary is the Congress candidate from Khinvsar assembly seat, Ravant Ram Danga from BJP and Kanika Beniwal from Rashtriya Loktantrik Party who is the wife of Hanuman Beniwal. There is going to be a tough triangular contest between these three. Khinvsar assembly seat is considered a hot seat. Apart from Congress-BJP, candidates of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) are in the fray here. This seat became vacant after RLP’s Hanuman Beniwal became MP, so victory for the party is linked to prestige.

47 year old legacy

Hanuman Beniwal comes from a political family and his legacy is 47 years old. Beniwal’s father Ramdev Beniwal has been MLA twice. In 1977, Ramdev Beniwal won the assembly elections from Mundawa seat on Congress ticket and later in 1985, he became an MLA from Lok Dal. After delimitation in 2008, this seat was made Khinvsar assembly seat and Beniwal reached the assembly for the first time by winning on the election symbol of Bharatiya Janata Party.

the skill of staying relevant

Like his father, Hanuman Beniwal also has the skill of ‘going with anyone’ to remain relevant. Beniwal, who became MLA for the first time in 2008, continued to have a political fight with former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, after which he was expelled from the BJP in 2013. After that he contested the elections as an independent candidate from Khinvsar and won.

Contested elections from RLD in 2018

He contested the 2018 assembly elections in Rajasthan by forming his own party – Rashtriya Loktantrik Party – and reached the assembly by winning 3 MLAs with excellent performance. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Beniwal once again formed an alliance with BJP and became MP from Nagaur, but the very next year in 2020, he separated from NDA while supporting the farmers’ movement.

In 2023, Hanuman won by only 2 thousand votes.

Beniwal’s party again took part in the 2023 assembly elections, but this time the situation was not so good. Hanuman Beniwal himself could win from Khinvsar by barely 2000 votes. However, he contested and won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections under the banner of INDIA alliance. But political experts believe that Beniwal’s hard-fought victory in the assembly elections might overshadow him in the by-elections.
