A black bear was eradicated by preservation cops after it appeared a door and entered Yukon University’s main construction in Whitehorse on Thursday night.
Yukon preservation cops state they’re uncertain what motivated the pet to enter the construction.
It passed off late Thursday evening. Officers state the bear appeared an out of doors door and a house window to enter the construction, and was after that blurt through a door opened up by personnel.
Conservation cops confirmed as much as find the pet by the health club. It was after that eradicated “to address safety concerns,” in line with a declaration from Yukon Conservation Officer Services.
“The bear, having entered a facility, is not a candidate for relocation. This can become learned behaviour where bears will try again. The bear also demonstrated habituation to people,” the declaration critiques.
“This is an unusual occurrence for Whitehorse; however, bears have been known to enter structures such as cabins or sheds in search of food.”
