Drunk Driver Kills Delivery Agent in Delhi
A 25-year-old Zepto delivery agent, Hem Shankar, died early Saturday morning after being struck by a drunk driver near the Subhash Nagar Metro station.
- The incident occurred around 3:20 am when a speeding car hit Shankar’s electric scooter.
- The driver, Mohit Kumar, 27, was arrested and charged with rash driving, causing death by negligence, and drunken driving.
- Passersby apprehended Kumar and his companion, Sanchit Dhar, before handing them to police.
- Zepto has expressed condolences and is cooperating with the investigation and confirmed Shankar was covered by a ₹10 lakh accidental insurance policy.
