Manipur Police Evacuate Kuki Students Amidst Rising Tensions
Imphal – Authorities in Manipur have evacuated 51 Kuki students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Ramva School in Ukhrul district due to escalating tensions between the Kuki and Naga communities.
- Evacuation: 31 male and 20 female students were safely relocated to Kangpokpi district.
- Reason: Precautionary measure following clashes and arson in the Litan Sareikhong area, where approximately 30 houses were burnt.
- Community Support: Local civil society organizations aided in de-escalating tension and ensuring the students’ safe passage.
